之前提到了臨陣磨槍應付考試，這里再補充一個短語：burn the midnight oil。如果在午夜時分燃燒燈油，那也就意味著熬夜苦讀了。所以它的意思就是挑燈夜讀，也就是我們平時所說的開夜車。
