在社會(huì)發(fā)展不斷趨于全球化的21世紀(jì)，各個(gè)國(guó)家、各個(gè)民族的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)首先是人才的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)。中國(guó)在世界上的和平崛起，首先得益于科教興國(guó)。在這一歷史背景下，首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)在本世紀(jì)初確立了國(guó)內(nèi)一流，國(guó)際知名的發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略，并開(kāi)始實(shí)施人才培養(yǎng)國(guó)際化方針，并醞釀成立國(guó)際學(xué)院。

2005年為加速學(xué)校成為國(guó)內(nèi)一流、國(guó)際知名醫(yī)科大學(xué)的進(jìn)程，進(jìn)一步開(kāi)展學(xué)校的海外教育工作，擴(kuò)大海外教育規(guī)模，成立了首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)國(guó)際學(xué)院，2007年國(guó)際學(xué)院正式招生。

國(guó)際學(xué)院位于首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)西校區(qū)，學(xué)院建筑面積三萬(wàn)四千平方米，可為800名海外學(xué)生提供食宿，擁有設(shè)施齊全的多媒體教室20個(gè)，包括兩個(gè)計(jì)算機(jī)室、三個(gè)臨床橋梁課實(shí)驗(yàn)室和一個(gè)語(yǔ)言實(shí)驗(yàn)室。生活配套設(shè)施有食堂、咖啡吧、食品超市、商務(wù)中心、兩個(gè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)籃球場(chǎng)和學(xué)生活動(dòng)室等。為來(lái)自世界各地的留學(xué)生和港澳臺(tái)學(xué)生提供良好的學(xué)習(xí)和生活條件。

首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)國(guó)際學(xué)院是首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)海外教育的主要載體，涵蓋管理、招生、教學(xué)組織、學(xué)生教育等功能，是與首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)其他各學(xué)院并行的教學(xué)單位之一，是學(xué)校各類海外教育的基地。學(xué)院開(kāi)設(shè)的教育課程以英語(yǔ)授課的醫(yī)學(xué)專業(yè)為主，同時(shí)與國(guó)外知名大學(xué)（如澳大利亞迪肯大學(xué)、美國(guó)休斯頓醫(yī)學(xué)中心、香港中文大學(xué)等）合作舉辦各類國(guó)際教育項(xiàng)目，并通過(guò)校際交流引進(jìn)國(guó)外優(yōu)秀教學(xué)資源，每年聘請(qǐng)4-5名客座教授來(lái)學(xué)院任教。在加強(qiáng)海外留學(xué)生教育的同時(shí)，學(xué)院還積極致力于國(guó)內(nèi)學(xué)生的國(guó)際化教育，聯(lián)合國(guó)際醫(yī)學(xué)名校為國(guó)內(nèi)學(xué)生提供海外留學(xué)進(jìn)修、海外就業(yè)培訓(xùn)等系列國(guó)際教育項(xiàng)目?，F(xiàn)有的教育項(xiàng)目包括：英文授課的醫(yī)學(xué)學(xué)歷教育、國(guó)際合作項(xiàng)目、預(yù)科教育、學(xué)生校際交流項(xiàng)目、海外執(zhí)業(yè)資格認(rèn)證考試培訓(xùn)、語(yǔ)言培訓(xùn)。

目前，首都醫(yī)科大學(xué)國(guó)際學(xué)院已成為全國(guó)重點(diǎn)醫(yī)學(xué)高校同類學(xué)院中教學(xué)資源豐富、教學(xué)質(zhì)量有保證、辦學(xué)規(guī)模發(fā)展較快，衷心致力于發(fā)展國(guó)際合作教育并呈現(xiàn)出良好發(fā)展勢(shì)頭的國(guó)際教育學(xué)院。

The International School of Capital Medical University was founded in 2005. The International School is located on the West Campus of Capital Medical University. The school occupies an area of 3.5 acres with a floor area of 34,000m2, sufficient to provide good living and learning environment for more than 800 overseas students. There are 20 multimedia classrooms, including 2 computer rooms, 3 bridge course laboratories and 1 language lab. Living facilities consist of a canteen, food supermarket, coffee bar, business center, two standard basketball court and student activity rooms.

The international school is the main facility of overseas student education of Capital medical university. The MBBS program, taught in English Language is recognized by the Ministry of Education China, IMED, W.H.O., the USA Medical Council, the Thai Medical Council, and several other major medical councils of the world. Our curriculum design makes full use of the advantages of Capital Medical University which has unique rich medical educational resources. Many of the professors are Chinese national leading researchers overseeing up-to-date research laboratories.

The International students come from more than 50 nationalities including Thailand, India, Australia，Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, USA, Canada and others. The International School of Capital Medical University has become the leader in the nation and abroad for its rich teaching resources, teaching quality assurance, and the level of development.
