Clearly, low-paid workers hired by government contractors couldn't be happier, even if they won't get paid meal breaks.
他想知道couldn't be happier是什么意思。
句子跟最低工資有關(guān),政府早前宣布,政府外判工將獲有薪休息日,措施普遍受到勞工界歡迎,所以句子說低收入的工人couldn't be happier。
用中文來說,就是高興不過、高興到頂點(diǎn)、高興得不能再高興。
這個句型在日常生活中非常有用。譬如說:公司要開茶會,剛巧附近有超級市場開張,所有貨品打折,飲品的價錢低得不能再低,你馬上向上司報告:
The prices there cannot be cheaper.
